This tour explores the nooks and crannies of this former warehouse district, now home to nearly 60 wineries, breweries, restaurants and art galleries.   The 90 minute adventure begins and ends at the Goat Tree restaurant  (120 State St), a block up from Stearns Wharf.  You’ll learn about past events and trends that shaped this iconic and eclectic neighborhood such as how the Funk Zone got its name, the history behind Santa Barbara becoming a premier wine producing region, Santa Barbara’s contribution to surfing, the old and new Hotel Californian, the Lark Restaurant, formation of Lockheed aircraft, the founding of McConnell’s ice cream and so much more.  We’ll go inside a local brewery and maybe visit a local artist!
